1. The contents of a title
The reiteration of the word-concept “people” in the title is repetitive and not very clear, but the content encompassed by it is huge: Culture without people, whether it be leading, calm, active and dynamic, more or less creative and of more or less imaginative creation, doesn’t exist!
People are anonymous, professionals, named professionals, artists, and most of them should be citizens of culture.
What citizens? What culture? We will try to find meaningful answers.
Nothing new is going to happen. Just a period of time, ninety minutes, in which people interested in the culture of cities and of cities of the imagination, are going to read other people’s quotations, discuss them and construct, or revise, or reform, or recreate… concepts and views of Culture.
2. How the workshop will work
We will use a very simple method: display small quotations drawn from the world of the Arts and the coordinator of the session will talk about them according to their line of research and education.
Next we will have a question time and then we will end with the coordinator’s direct questions, allowing those present to contribute other ideas and interpretations.
The aim isn’t to juxtapose ideas or leave them in a vacuum, but to let participants express themselves from a theoretical, intellectual and artistic point of view.
We aren’t looking for general conclusions or trying to create a network of momentary ideas, but are just going to let everyone construct a record of imaginative ideas applicable to people.
The participants in this process are people who want to change creative cities and, therefore, the citizens of culture.
