Argentina has a large number of talented designers, trained to levels of excellence, in a position to contribute to the productive development of the country. However, the corporate sector often ignores the strategic and creative capacities of designers, wasting a tool that could contribute to competitiveness and innovation, producing a big impact on the local economy.
The Metropolitan Design Centre works tirelessly on policies to promote design as a fundamental factor for productive, economic and cultural development. One of its outstanding projects, currently being developed, is that of a Design District in the south of the city, where the CMD is located.
Some of the subjects we will deal with in the workshop are:
- Why a Design District in the south of Buenos Aires?
- What features should a Design District have?
- Who should the Design District be aimed at?
- What benefits and tools would contribute to improving the performance of designers?
- How can links between designers and representatives of local industry be promoted?
