Doctor in Geography and History and Professor of Human Geography in the “La Laguna” university, where he gives lessons to a level between Tourism diploma and university degree. He joins in as a visiting teacher in several post-graduate degrees concerning sustainable territorial development and tourist innovating strategies. His most relevant research line is orientated towards the scientific study of migrating movements in Canary Islands, being the director and promoter of the immigration observatory in Tenerife OBITen (http://www.obiten.net). His working area applied from a university point of view, is related to territorial development, subject where he effectuates a great professional and teaching task framed in the Geography concept towards development. More recently he has specialized himself in initiatives of community development and in promoting Networks of technical work for local development… His most fertile implication in the field of university extension is linked to the diffusion of the thematic topic of trekking, conceived as a tool to value heritage and local development that he normally promotes in his function of Director of the Cultural Tourism course in the university of La Laguna.
