A designer who has worked on and researched open collaborative projects (Open Design/Open P2P Design) and the systems that design them since 2005. He is interested in the relationships between design, towns, communities and complexity, learning from Open Source software, P2P and Web 2.0, adopting their principles and practices.
He has worked as a designer and at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he has had classes on the relationships between design/town/community/complexity, becoming interested in the organisation of the project community of some courses. He has participated in and organised conferences, events and workshops in Italy and Spain. He was recently invited to act as facilitator for a workshop on Open Innovation at UrbanLabs 08, an event organised by Citilab-Cornellà (Barcelona) with the aim of developing projects with new technologies for social innovations for towns and citizens. He was also invited to act as co-facilitator for a workshop on Post-Industrial Design at I Realize 09 (Turin), organised by TOP-IX to research technological and social innovations for the future of design.
He collaborates with the P2P Foundation and publishes articles and books within the project openp2pdesign.org, a network under construction for the research and execution of projects for collaborative projects, systems and open processes for communities and towns.
